Single, Split, and Three-Phase AC & DC Power Source products with regenerative, bidirectional options.
Pacific Power Source’s AC & DC power source products include both regenerative and high energy efficiency options designed for high performance, configuration flexibility, and ease of use. Each solution supports specific test requirements and applications across aerospace and defense, electric vehicles, renewable energy, energy storage, and power conversion industries.
AC & DC power sources with AC, DC, and AC + DC output capability are important for comprehensive testing and validation of devices that operate on AC or DC power. These power sources can simulate both AC grid-connected and standalone DC operation. This simplifies testing procedures and reduces the need for multiple types of power sources, enhancing efficiency and cost-effectiveness in testing environments.
We have two major categories of AC & DC power sources:
The regenerative AZX Series (up to 440kW) and AGX Series (up to 252kW) provide over 90% energy efficiency with source and sink capabilities that allow energy to be absorbed and fed back into the facility or UUT. These ‘all-in-1’ four quadrant devices offer integrated AC and DC testing capability and load options that can simplify your test set-up.
These ‘all-in-1’ multi-functional test solutions provide great flexibility for a wide range of applications. They can function as a regenerative 4-quadrant AC and DC power source, AC voltage source, DC power supply, current source, and AC/DC load. The AZX has an additional PHIL Interface option capability.
For applications that do not require bidirectional power, both the AFX Series and ADF Series are ideal options with an energy efficiency of 85% and highly dynamic testing capabilities. The AFX Series has additional advanced features over the ADF Series while the ADF Series can be used for more general-purpose power conversion testing.
Innovate the Way you Test with Smart Control
The SmartSource Suite Remote Control Platform is an embedded web server that allows you to fully access and control Pacific Power Source products on any web browser, in real-time with an enhanced user experience and visualization tools.
Its intuitive user-interface, full access to all test functions, and easy programming capabilities substantially reduce test time and increase productivity.
The Role of Protection Limits to Increase Safety
Voltage Peak Protection can prevent isolation breakdown of circuits on the unit under test when subjected to excessive voltage levels. It may also be used to detect abnormal interactions between the power source and the unit under test that can result in overshoot or ringing of the voltage, and shut down the power source output quickly.
